Fear

Is there such a thing as good fear and bad fear?  We like to quote that Fear is not of God; however, it a reality in our day to day lives that grips us and prevents us from accomplishing the perfect will of God in our lives.  One brother wrote the following:

What I have learned recently about fear.

Fear does not necessarily mean \"STOP\"

Fear is as powerful as you allow it to be.

Most of us feel fear and interpret that feeling as a warning to stop moving forward.

In truth , we should interpret most fear as a natural emotion that pops up every time we venture to do something outside of our comfort zone.

Being a man does not mean you do not fear. I fear God!

But when you fear , keep moving . It'll stretch you beyond your comfort zone and closer to your goals.

So do not fear , for I am with you; do not be dismayed , for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Teaching and Reaching

Praise the Lord, Men.

When you get a chance, please pickup the book entitled "Perfecting Your Purpose" by David D. Ireland, PhD.  It is an inspiring book on how to take 40 days to search and understand your purpose.  (I will see about ordering some in bulk)

This book will be used in various sessions to prepare us to find our individual purpose for why we were created.  In our last session I talked briefly about understanding your "personal brand".  This book will help you develop your own.

Remember, we have Men's Prayer every 3rd Monday (November 21st - this month).  Look up the book on the web and read through the books description and write back soon and give me your thoughts.  Talk to you soon!

Brothers, Let's Talk!

Praise the Lord,

Welcome to the Men's Ministry blog.  The Lord gave me this thought and confirmed it in prayer.

In a day where the world is following their favorite stars on Twitter and spending countless hours updating their facebook, linkedIn, and other social media sites, I thought it would be a great place for men to interact and find answers and solutions to our struggles in our walk with the Lord while creating a venue where the face to face conversations can go beyond "Praise the Lord" in the church halls.

I hope you will find it to be a positive atmosphere where we can share/discuss weekly topics.  Absolutely, under no circumstances will profanity or personal attacks be tolerated or published.  Instead, Let's communicate as we would in person....in short meaningful bytes and interact while encouraging, teaching, and sharing in testimonies of the experiences we have while walking with the Lord.  Let me know your thoughts and I pray that this venue will help and lead many to know Jesus Christ!
